Phil Shelley - Innov8

Phil Shelley

After five years in the Army, Phil spent 25 years in the banking world, where he helped companies grow and develop. Since that he has focused on working with founders to build various new companies in the tech world. He is an experienced Chairman, with a strong financial background. 

Phil is a passionate believer that innov8 Workshops can really make a difference to children who struggle with mainstream education. We want to help them achieve the best they can, and everything we do is designed to make that happen.

Nigel - Innov8
Nigel Gambier
Nigel Gambier

Nigel is an Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineer and a keen explorer of the world in his vintage car. In 1990 he founded, and was the CEO of, Willis & Gambier, a market-leading furniture company, which he sold in 2006.

Nigel was previously a trustee of St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds, but decided to change tack and concentrate his energy on the wellbeing of people at the start of their lives. He was thrilled to join innov8 Workshops as a trustee, and is keen to see the charity expand regionally and continue its wonderful work helping vulnerable and excluded children back into mainstream society.

Michael Walton - Innov8

Michael Walton

Michael is a retired Chartered Accountant, and spent more than 30 years working in the London insurance market. Michael has held executive positions as a CEO of both Lloyd’s and FCA-regulated businesses, as well as chairing specialist insurers in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands. Michael has specific responsibility for the oversight of innov8’s finances.

Teresa Selvey - innov8 Workshops, Bury St Edmunds

Teresa Selvey

Teresa brings a wide range of educational experience, which was gained in the public, private and commercial sectors. She has an MA in Educational Leadership and spent her career in education, including many years as a Headteacher. Teresa also has experience of developing organisations and managing change.

More recently her experience has been in developing and leading a Multi Academy Trust of 6 schools across Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. This has given her a solid understanding of working with stakeholders to develop the shared vision which forms the backbone of strategic planning. Teresa has served on the governing bodies of 4 schools, including 3 primaries and an independent 3-18 girls’ school where she was Vice-Chair.
